The weather was just so lovely this week-end. After spending all Saturday afternoon on the Clifton beach in Cape Town, on Sunday we decided to go to Hermanus. This city is one hour and half drive from Cape Town, it is well-known as whale-watching spot! We spended all the day to go around in the town, go along the sea and we saw three whales, and one really close to us! It’s a facinating show! These whales weight round 27t and the size can be 14meters (the birth-size is already 4,5meters). Hermanus is also a nice quiet town to go for a walk, to see the old harbour and to eat great seafood.

It was really nice to spend a day outside from the city and breathe sea air!

South African people are very fan of sport ! Last Saturday, I attended a rugby match : Vodacom Western Province VS Sharks Durban. Even if Cape Town lost it 10-32, it was a really great moment in a friendly atmosphere !

In the heart of the city, there is a big park: Company’s Garden. It is very pleasant, especially at lunch. There are a lot of lawns and banks where you can sit down or lay down.

You can see a lot of animals: ducks, pigeons, little squirrels, … They aren’t really wild, they let themselves being approached: look at the center of the picture!

Sometimes you feel like in the jungle! And you can see beautiful exotic flowers.

It’s a beautiful patch of green in the town and it’s very cool when the winter sun shines!

I have lived here just for three weeks but I already like this city.

Cape Townis a cosmopolite city! In the street, you can meet so much different people; it’s the mirror of the “Rainbow Nation”. Never forget that South Africa is a multiracial country where everyone is very welcoming, thoughtful and hearty.

Here are some of my photos in Cape Town :
