Bye bye “Mama Africa” November 14, 2008
The famous South African singer Miriam Makeba passed away during Sunday night, she was 76.
She was one of the legendary African voices and a symbol of the struggle against apartheid. Her famous song Pata Pata - Myriam Makeba (1956) goes around the world.
She was born on 4th March 1932 in Jo’burg. She began sing in the 50’s with the “Manhattan brother”. She came back to South Africa in 1990 with the Madiba’s liberation after years in exile in Guinea, United States and France.
Rest in peace Mama Africa.
