Mozambique holiday September 29, 2008
I haven’t posted for a long time but I have a good excuse : I was on holiday in Mozambique with 2 friends.
I travel to Johannesburg by plane, then I took different buses to Maputo, then to Tofo and Vilankulo.
After on week, Mozambique means to me beautiful beaches and really nice people.
In terms of craft, Mozambican markets offer a wide range of products : paints, jewels in seashell, wood sculptures, colorfull clothes… Even on the beach, a lot of artists come to offer you their creations. In Maputo, the capital city, you cold find a lot of art museums, especially the National Art Museum for contemporary creations.
The sample team September 12, 2008
Artwell, Nandipha, Wilbert and Malanga work hard on the samples to always create new products.
They made products according to customers queries (we can make all that you dream in bead and wire !) or to designers’work for new ranges.
Downstairs’ teams September 1, 2008
Work and orders to the studio are allocated to different team groups of 8 to 15 artists. Each group has one team leader and work together to complete order (conveyed by job cards from the database).
